The Platos Body Composition Monitor (BCM) uses bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) technology. It sends a small electrical current through your body to measure tissue resistance. Different tissues (fat, muscle, water, bone) resist the current differently, allowing the device to estimate their quantities.
